Giorgio Comai has graduated in European Political Systems, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Bologna; in his BA thesis, “New Tenants, new Neighbours – The Eastward European Union Enlargement in Eastern European Press”, he translated and analysed Polish and Russian press at the time of the 2004 European Union enlargement. He concluded the MIREES programme writing a thesis on “The Processes of Change of Power in the Countries of the CIS”. While at university, he has been a guest student for a semester at the Jagiellonian University of Cracow, Poland, and for a whole year at the Russian State University of Humanities (RGGU), Moscow, Russia. He is interested in the countries of the CIS, including the Caucasus and Central Asia. His current focus of interest is: pro-governamental youth organisations in Russia and the countries of the CIS, as well as state projects for patriotic education both at national and regional level.
As an Area Expert, I would like to deepen and broadening professional knowledge and expertise acquired during those years. While working for the international cooperation to development, I would like to enhance my professional competences, by enriching my working methods and techniques and, at the same time, be able to leading the planning and the development of all project deliverables, being responsible for managing the budget, work-plan and all project management procedures. This will allow me to be professionally skilled and to be a more competitive human resource with an international perspective.
