The main aim of the course is to examine the most important historical developments, periods and tendencies in the Baltic countries (specifically Lithuania) in the 19th-20th centuries, to analyze Russian and Westem European influences on the Baltic countries and raise students' awareness of historical literature relevent to the development of the Baltic region in the European context.
