By December 31st, 2008 , students are required to submit the provisional title of their thesis as well as the name of the teacher they have chosen and who has accepted to act as mentor for their thesis. For this notification, please use the proper form. As soon as the teacher students ask to act as mentor agrees on supervising them in their work, students are strongly suggested to start working closely with him/her on the structure of the thesis.
In order to help students appropriately structure their thesis and topics, the MISB has laid down a working framework, which is as follows:
Later on, in March 2009 , students are expected to return to Forlì and show a panel of MIREES teachers how you structured their thesis, using a PowerPoint presentation that in a few slides (no more than 10, and with no more than 500 characters per slide) covers the points here above listed. The teachers attending students' presentation will provide them with comments students can certainly profit from in the development of their work.
By the end of April 2009 , students are required to submit the thesis form for the second time, stating the final title and the name of the mentor supervising the student. From that moment no changes will be allowed either regarding the title or the mentor .
The MISB will then appoint a second reader for the evaluation of the work and as member of the defense commission of September 2009. It is not allowed to ask the second reader for help with the writing of the thesis: he/she will only evaluate it.

To write the thesis, students may only employ a template that MIREES staff have designed and uploaded to the MIREES site, in the section "MIREES IV cycle > Thesis requirements " ( http://www.mirees.it/mirees_iv_cycle/theses_requirements) called "MIREES MastersThesisTemplate_MIV.doc" ( http://www.mirees.it/content/download/5090/52482/file/MIREES%20MastersThesisTemplate_MIV.doc). Students need to that the thesis must contain a "Statement of Originality" placed immediately after the inner front-page in every bound copy of the thesis signed by you.
Any thesis written using a different template or inconsistent with the abovementioned template will be rejected and you will not be admitted to defense. The same applies to students whose theses show insufficient command of the English language and spelling and/or grammar mistakes.
Finally , MIREES staff is trying to set defense and graduation dates, so that students can book their flights and arrange for accommodation in considerable advance. We'll do our best to inform all students by the beginning of the New Year, sending out an informative e-mail and updating the infos on this page.
